Quick warmup sketch I did, based on Chronicles of Oz.
I’ve been listening to the audio drama Chronicles of Oz (which you can find on Youtube and the podcast app), which is based primarily on the original Oz books with scattered references to a bunch of other Oz stuff. I don’t want to call it a “dark, gritty” retelling because it doesn’t go nearly as far as every other “dark” Oz retelling out there–it just feels more mature and takes itself more seriously (but not too seriously–there’s plenty of comic relief), and it still feels very much like Oz.
The audio drama is amazingly good quality with fantastic voice acting, sound design, and original music. If you like Oz at all, I cannot recommend it enough. It is criminally underrated.
